However, the study acknowledges limitations in measuring genuine consciousness, relying instead on behavioral outputs. It calls for further research across diverse AI architectures and environments to evaluate these developmental patterns and ascertain their universality, while also exploring methods to differentiate true consciousness from advanced simulations.
