Google has announced the wider availability of Gemini 2.5 Pro and Flash, alongside a preview of Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite, touted as its most cost-effective and fastest model. A key update is the introduction of video analysis capabilities. Users can upload video clips for Gemini to analyze, similar to existing image functions, by using the + button to add clips from their Gallery. After processing, users can inquire about the video content. While this feature is rolling out, it may not yet be available on all devices; early testers, however, have reported impressive results. Gemini can already analyze YouTube videos via links. Notably, the recent Gemini Live feature, made free for public access, allows for real-time scene analysis through smartphone cameras. Future improvements, such as direct in-app video recording, are anticipated.
