Adobe has launched Project Indigo, a free iPhone camera app designed to enhance smartphone photography with a combination of computational techniques and professional editing controls. Now available for iPhone 12 Pro and newer, Indigo captures up to 32 frames per shot to reduce noise and preserve highlights, prioritizing a natural aesthetic over aggressive processing. The app features manual controls for focus, exposure, and white balance, and supports DNG file outputs with embedded enhancements. Its modes, including Photo, Night, and Long Exposure, cater to various lighting conditions. Unique AI-driven features like AI Denoise and Remove Reflections further refine image quality. Developed by experts renowned for their work on computational photography, Indigo sets itself apart by focusing on a more authentic photographic experience, similar to that of an SLR camera, aiming to address photographers’ desires for less over-processed images.
