Google Introduces AI-Powered Voice Search Feature for Enhanced User Experience

Google is currently testing a feature called Search Live within the Google app, designed for users to utilize voice input in AI Mode, which is available to Android and iOS users in the U.S. This feature caters to multitaskers, allowing users to verbally query the app while on the move, such as asking for tips on preventing wrinkles in linen dresses during packing. An AI-generated audio response follows, making it easy to ask follow-up questions. Users can continue this interaction while using other apps and can access a text version of the response by clicking the “transcript” button. The Search Live function utilizes a custom Gemini model with enhanced voice capabilities and offers a broader range of search results. Future updates will include the ability for the app to use the camera for real-time assistance. This new feature is accessible through a specific icon in AI Mode within Google Labs.
