Samsung has announced the integration of Google Gemini into its Bespoke refrigerator line at CES 2023, marking a significant advancement in home appliance technology. This first-of-its-kind feature for refrigerators aims to simplify tasks and enhance the kitchen experience. The upgraded AI Vision capability will allow users to see what’s inside the fridge without extensive prior registration, offering the ability to add items to shopping lists or check inventory while shopping. Initially, the AI could recognize about 40 types of fresh and 50 processed foods, but the new version promises broader recognition. Samsung hinted at additional functionalities, like recipe suggestions and alerts for food expiration. While Samsung hasn’t disclosed pricing or launch dates, past models were priced around $3,000, with preorders available in spring for summer delivery. The potential for expanding Gemini’s technology to other Bespoke appliances remains a topic of speculation.
