HCLSoftware has announced its acquisition of Wobby, a startup specializing in AI agents for data platforms, integrating it with its Actian unit. This acquisition aims to enhance Actian’s metadata, data catalog, and governance tools, addressing the growing demand for data insights. Wobby introduces an advanced AI data analyst, enabling customers to quickly analyze complex datasets.
Key features include a natural language interface and a proprietary semantic layer, automating intricate workflows and positioning Actian as a leader in data intelligence. Actian CEO Marc Potter emphasized that Wobby will facilitate large language model (LLM)-powered analytics, enhancing self-service capabilities on a unified semantic layer.
Wobby also boasts seamless integrations with platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, and Google Big Query. Its standout product, the Deep Analysis Agent, offers multi-dimensional data analysis with basic prompts, leveraging a multi-agent architecture. The acquisition is slated for closure in February, further solidifying HCLSoftware’s footprint in the AI-driven data landscape.
