Huawei Launches HarmonyOS 6 for Developers, Introducing New AI Agents and Cloud Architecture Enhancements

admin

Huawei Technologies has launched HarmonyOS 6, its latest operating system, along with new AI models and the CloudMatrix 384 AI architecture, amidst ongoing U.S. sanctions. At its annual developer conference, Huawei introduced a beta of HarmonyOS 6, showcasing new AI features, though a consumer launch date was not provided. The company has successfully implemented HarmonyOS 5 across over 40 device models, boasting 8 million registered developers and more than 30,000 apps and “atomic services” available. Despite this growth, Huawei acknowledged that HarmonyOS still lags behind Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android in global reach and app support. However, Richard Yu Chengdong noted that the top 5,000 apps capture 99.9% of user time on Huawei devices. Additionally, the new HarmonyOS Agent Framework will enable developers to easily create AI agents for various tasks, with over 50 AI agents set to be available upon the full release.
