China’s national supercomputing network has launched an advanced scientific-computing intelligent agent in Tianjin Municipality. This innovative system automates research tasks, schedules computing resources, runs simulations, analyzes results, and generates reports based on natural language inputs, as reported by China Science Daily and Xinhua. Tasks traditionally taking a day are now completed in about an hour, with nearly 100 high-frequency scientific-computing scenarios supported. Leveraging AI resources, the agent integrates over 120 specialized knowledge bases across seven fields, including AI and materials science, thereby lowering barriers to scientific computing and enhancing research productivity. Qian Depei, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, emphasized the shift from computational science to intelligent science, as these agents amalgamate fragmented computing power and knowledge resources, providing researchers with expedited and accessible innovation support. This development signifies a major leap forward in scientific research efficiency and accessibility, paving the way for future advancements.
