WhatsApp is currently testing Meta AI-powered editing tools in its Status Editor, allowing users to enhance and transform photos directly within the app on iOS and Android beta versions. This feature, now accessible to limited beta testers, eliminates the need for third-party apps for creative photo editing.
The revamped editor offers a variety of AI-generated visual styles, such as 3D, Comic Book, and Anime, along with functionalities like object removal, background cleanup, and text-driven transformations. Users can also animate static images, adding engaging motion to their status updates.
Currently available to select beta testers via iOS TestFlight and Android beta builds, the rollout is expected to expand gradually to all WhatsApp users. This strategic addition aims to enhance user engagement and streamline the photo editing experience within WhatsApp, aligning with modern social media trends.
