Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has called for urgent government action against the rising sexualization of women on AI apps, particularly on Elon Musk’s platform X. In a letter to IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, she emphasized the need for “guardrails” on AI technologies like Grok. Chaturvedi highlighted the alarming trend of fake accounts using AI to manipulate women’s images, stating that such actions violate privacy and dignity, calling them “unacceptable” and a “criminal” misuse of technology. She stressed the importance of educating young men to prevent such behaviors. Chaturvedi urged swift intervention to make social media platforms safer for women, expressing that a proactive stance is necessary to halt these abuses that currently go unchecked. The MP’s remarks underline the need for accountability among tech companies and recognize AI’s potential while advocating for women’s rights and dignity in digital spaces.
