Snowflake is integrating Google’s Gemini into its Cortex AI platform, enhancing user access to foundational models within their data environments across various cloud platforms, as reported by The Register. Snowflake allows users to store diverse operational data, from financial and CRM records to multimedia content. With Cortex AI, users can select the Gemini model to analyze vast datasets, leveraging a large language model (LLM) for insightful business analytics. This integration promotes cross-region inference across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Dwarak Rajagopal, VP of AI Engineering and Research at Snowflake, emphasized their model-agnostic approach, enabling seamless adoption of top-tier AI models without altering existing architectures. Supported models include those from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta. Snowflake’s flexible pricing model ensures customers only pay for usage, minimizing risk and fostering innovation. Currently, users can access insights from Gemini 3 Pro and 2.5 Flash through Cortex AI Functions in a public preview.
