This year, we’ve added a new chapter detailing how AI can be effectively integrated into participatory processes. People Powered has reviewed 17 AI deliberation tools, introducing platforms like Talk to the City and the Stanford Online Deliberation Forum. Case studies from Thailand, Taiwan, Uganda, Ireland, Colombia, and Germany illustrate diverse applications of AI in digital participation.
Our guide offers a comprehensive roadmap for deploying AI responsibly, emphasizing core principles like transparency, equity, and accountability. Specific AI applications are highlighted, including translation, sentiment analysis, and discussion moderation, which can streamline participatory programs. The guide also suggests tools for various stages of participation, such as Go Vocal for discussion group formation and Sensemaker for post-event analysis.
