Slingshot Aerospace has secured a $27 million contract to enhance US Space Force training through its TALOS AI agent, part of the Operational Test and Training Infrastructure program. Over 18 months, TALOS will integrate AI technology into existing training systems, enabling more realistic exercises that reflect the dynamic orbital threat landscape. Designed to mimic real-world satellite actions, TALOS leverages behavior cloning to create adaptive scenarios, moving beyond scripted drills. This initiative builds on previous Space Force investments, including a notable $25 million STRATFI contract from 2022. Early tests show TALOS effectively acts as an unpredictable opponent, providing Guardians with crucial experience against ever-evolving strategies.
