Google has introduced the “Answer Now” feature in its Gemini app, catering to users seeking faster responses without waiting for the AI’s complete reasoning. This option is available in the Gemini Thinking and Pro models, which offer detailed answers but typically involve a longer response time. Users can now tap “Answer Now” while the model is processing, allowing Gemini to deliver an answer immediately, bypassing in-depth reasoning. Notably, this feature does not activate in the Fast model, already optimized for speed. Google’s clarification indicates that responses still originate from the selected model, meaning the output may differ from the Fast model. The update aims to balance the desire for speed with the benefits of advanced models. Available across Android, iOS, and web platforms for both free users and subscribers, “Answer Now” enhances user control over their interaction with Gemini, further refined through ongoing updates.
