Jonah Sanabria, a sophomore at Monument Mountain Regional High School, developed an innovative AI-powered app, “Health Advocate,” to enhance doctor-patient communication after a challenging appointment experience. His groundbreaking app, which organizes patient questions and provides real-time assistance during consultations, won the Congressional App Challenge for Massachusetts’ 1st District and will be showcased in the U.S. Capitol. Sanabria, invited to present his app on Capitol Hill, aims to alleviate common patient stress and confusion, allowing for better understanding of medical discussions and post-care plans. Congressman Richard Neal praised the app as a model for improving healthcare technology and fostering meaningful patient-doctor relationships. The annual Congressional App Challenge promotes STEM education, with over 85,000 students participating since its inception.
