Agoda has launched its open-source API Agent, a universal Model Context Protocol (MCP) server aimed at simplifying how developers connect clients to GraphQL and REST services using natural language. This innovative tool streamlines the management of numerous internal services without the need for individual MCP servers, significantly enhancing the efficiency of large-scale travel platforms. The API Agent automatically inspects service schemas, generates necessary queries, and executes them, eliminating the need for custom integration code. Additionally, it supports advanced SQL-based post-processing through DuckDB, allowing for operations like sorting and aggregation. Idan Zalzberg, Agoda’s Chief Technology Officer, highlighted the ease of unlocking internal tools for AI with this novel approach. The API Agent is available now on GitHub, joining Agoda’s expanding portfolio of open-source projects. This release underscores Agoda’s commitment to innovation and efficiency in the tech-driven travel industry.
