WhatsApp has launched an innovative feature powered by Meta AI designed to enhance user engagement by summarizing missed messages. If users have been away from their phones, they can now receive bullet-point summaries of unread conversations with just a tap, eliminating the need to scroll through lengthy chats. This new tool is particularly valuable for busy group conversations and long message threads. Currently, the feature is available only in English for users in the United States, with plans for expansion to other languages and regions later this year. Utilizing Meta’s Private Processing technology, the feature ensures that message content remains secure and unreadable by Meta or third parties. The AI summary tool is optional and turned off by default, giving users complete control over its use.
