Experts Advocate for AI Tools in Administrative Roles for Registrars

A national workshop on strategic leadership and innovation for university registrars was held at Gujarat Technological University (GTU). Experts emphasized the importance of keeping university administrators well-informed and adaptable to future challenges. Ranjana Parihar, secretary general of the Association of Indian Universities, highlighted the necessity of integrating AI tools into administrative processes. She noted that while there are numerous faculty development programs for teaching staff, similar resources for administrative leaders, especially Registrars, are scarce. Parihar stressed that equipping university administrators with AI tools is crucial for data-driven decision-making and improving operational efficiency. The workshop aimed to enhance the skill set of registrars to ensure they are prepared for evolving administrative demands.
