Bharat-VISTAAR aims to streamline access to crucial agricultural information for farmers through an integrated platform. This initiative seeks to bridge information gaps affecting sowing decisions, crop protection, and farmer income. Key features include updates on weather forecasts, market prices, pest and disease alerts, soil health, and crop management advice, alongside details of major central government schemes. Accessible via a Voice-First AI system, farmers can interact through a dedicated helpline (155261), ensuring inclusivity for those with basic feature phones. The platform will also launch through a website, mobile chatbot, and an upcoming Android app. The official launch event, led by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma in Jaipur, is anticipated to connect lakhs of farmers across India. Initially supporting Hindi and English, Bharat-VISTAAR aims to enhance agricultural decision-making and reduce information asymmetry using AI-driven insights, contributing to India’s agricultural ecosystem transformation.
