The Government of Rwanda and Anthropic have taken a groundbreaking step by signing a three-year Memorandum of Understanding, officially amplifying their partnership to leverage AI across education, health, and public sectors. This collaboration marks a historic first for Anthropic on the African continent.

- Health Advancements: Support for Rwanda’s Ministry of Health includes initiatives to eliminate cervical cancer and tackle malaria and maternal mortality.
- Empowering Developers: Government developers will gain access to Claude and Claude Code, along with training and resources to elevate public sector AI integration.
- Education Partnership: Formalization of a fall 2025 agreement providing 2,000 Claude Pro licenses for educators and AI literacy training.
According to Rwanda’s Minister of ICT, Paula Ingabire, this partnership aims to “design and deploy AI solutions that strengthen education and health outcomes.”
