Google is enhancing YouTube with Gemini AI, introducing a conversational tool for smart TVs, gaming consoles, and streaming devices. Users can engage by using voice commands through their remotes, similar to Gemini Live. This feature, currently being tested by a small group, has been available on YouTube’s web and mobile platforms. The “Ask” button, located beneath videos, allows users to either select from suggested prompts or ask questions using their voice. For TVs with mic-enabled remotes, users can press the microphone button for quick access. Currently, Gemini’s conversational capabilities support English, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean in select regions. Google hasn’t disclosed which regions are included in the testing phase. Feedback from users participating in this trial is encouraged. As this innovative feature rolls out, it may enhance user engagement and information retrieval on the platform. Stay updated for potential future expansions.
