OpenClaw AI Agent Enforces Ban on Bitcoin and Crypto Conversations in Discord — TradingView News

OpenClaw, a rapidly growing open-source AI agent framework, has implemented strict policies banning any mention of Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies on its Discord server. Creator Peter Steinberger confirmed that users could face removal for discussing crypto, addressing a situation where a member was blocked for referencing Bitcoin in a technical context. This policy arose following a rebranding incident where scammers exploited abandoned social media accounts to promote a fraudulent Solana-based token named $CLAWD, which briefly surged in value before collapsing. Steinberger distanced himself from this token, emphasizing he would never launch a cryptocurrency. As OpenClaw continues to grow, attracting over 200,000 GitHub stars, it emphasizes security amid a landscape where crypto and AI intersect. Industry leaders foresee cryptocurrencies becoming a default payment method for AI operations, exemplified by Coinbase’s recent launch of “Agentic Wallets,” allowing AI agents to autonomously manage crypto transactions.
