ChatGPT Excels with an ‘A’ While Siri Falls Short with an ‘F’

In iOS 18, Siri has a new design featuring a glowing light around the screen. Apple analyst Gene Munster assessed Siri’s capabilities against ChatGPT and concluded that Siri functions merely as a voice-activated search tool rather than a true AI assistant. In his experiment with 50 questions, Siri received an “F,” while ChatGPT integration earned a “B,” and ChatGPT itself was rated “A.” Siri often failed to provide clear or useful answers and struggled with follow-up queries. The integration with ChatGPT improved responses but introduced delays of 5 to 10 seconds, hindering the user experience. In contrast, ChatGPT excels in mimicking natural human conversation, allowing for interactive engagements and deeper exploration. The review highlights ongoing challenges with Apple’s AI initiatives, including delays and underwhelming features, indicating a disconnect from consumer expectations as the company grapples with improving its AI capabilities.
