Meta’s CTO Unveils Major Offers for Leading AI Executives

admin

Meta’s CTO Andrew Bosworth has refuted OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s claims about $100 million bonuses for departing AI researchers, labeling them “dishonest” during an internal discussion. While acknowledging high compensation offers exist, Bosworth emphasized they are primarily for a select few leaders on OpenAI’s superintelligence team and involve complex compensation structures rather than simple cash bonuses. Meta’s CPO Chris Cox noted that, despite reaching a billion monthly users, Meta AI’s engagement is still lower than ChatGPT’s, highlighting that the dedicated Meta AI app only attracts 450,000 daily users. Meanwhile, three prominent AI researchers—Lucas Beyer, Alexander Kolesnikov, and Xiaohua Zhai—have transitioned from OpenAI to Meta, a move coinciding with Meta’s improved recruitment efforts led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Beyer clarified he did not receive a $100 million signing bonus, casting doubt on Altman’s numbers. Meta is focusing on entertainment and social connections, contrasting with its rivals’ productivity-driven approach.
