Google has introduced its advanced image generation model, Nano Banana 2, powered by Gemini 3.1 Flash Image. Promising “lightning-fast speed,” this model enhances rapid editing and offers multiple iterations from a single prompt, making it accessible for users who previously relied on the Pro version. Nano Banana 2 can retrieve real-time data and visuals from web searches, facilitating the creation of infographics and marketing content. It maintains character consistency for up to five characters in a single workflow, ideal for storyboarding and visual narratives. Additionally, it adheres to complex instructions and generates high-resolution images (up to 4K) with superior textures and detailing. While Nano Banana Pro already produced near-indistinguishable images, the performance of Nano Banana 2 remains to be evaluated. This new model will replace the Pro version in the Gemini app, becoming the default in Google’s AI tools, though Pro users retain access for specialized functionalities.
