The term “GPT” stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer. Currently, GPT.com is registered with DNStination Inc. via MarkMonitor, a domain registrar known for privacy services. While it’s unclear if OpenAI owns the domain, the forwarding behavior indicates a strong likelihood. Notably, other OpenAI domains like Chat.com and OpenAI.com are registered under MarkMonitor without privacy protection. Before its transfer, GPT.com was registered with Network Solutions under privacy. An alert from DomainIQ revealed a nameserver change, confirming that GPT.com now directs visitors to the ChatGPT platform. Previously, it linked to Global Payment Technologies Australia Pty Ltd, as per Archive.org records. This move signifies OpenAI’s ongoing expansion and commitment to its AI offerings.
