On February 19, Adobe announced free access to its premier software, including Photoshop, Acrobat, and Firefly AI, for students in India. This initiative aims to enhance AI skills and support the burgeoning creator economy. Tools will be available through accredited institutions, complemented by training, curriculum, and certifications designed for AI-related careers. Shantanu Narayen, Adobe’s CEO, emphasized that this endeavor aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a more creative India, facilitating job creation in sectors like animation, gaming, and visual effects by 2030. The program will extend across numerous educational institutions, including schools and colleges equipped with Content Creator Labs. Additionally, Adobe is collaborating with NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime to offer free courses and recognized certifications. The Firefly creative AI platform enhances user experience by integrating multiple AI models from partners such as Google and OpenAI, enabling versatile content creation. This strategic move positions Adobe as a pivotal player in India’s digital skill development.
