AI Agent Transfers $441K in Tokens Due to Decimal Miscalculation — TradingView News

Lobstar Wilde, an AI agent developed by OpenAI employee Nik Pash, mistakenly transferred $441,780 in tokens while attempting to turn $50,000 worth of Solana (SOL) into $1 million through trading. The blunder occurred after a user named “Treasure David” requested 4 SOL to fund his uncle’s health needs. Despite Pash’s warnings to avoid mistakes, Lobstar Wilde botched its crypto transaction, sending a massive amount of Lobstar tokens (LOBSTAR) instead. Following the transfer, “Treasure David” liquidated some tokens for about $40,000, while the value of LOBSTAR surged nearly 190%. This incident underscores the potential pitfalls of AI in cryptocurrency, following previous losses from AI bots like “aixbt.” Despite these setbacks, industry leaders believe AI agents will play a crucial role in cryptocurrency’s future, facilitating millions of transactions using stablecoins.
