AI Agents Can Extract Data, but They Lack Regulatory Power

Superhuman, formerly known as Grammarly, has partnered with Box, Gamma, and Wayground to enhance its Go AI agent capabilities. This collaboration will enable users to extract insights from unstructured data sources for summarizing and creating presentations. Despite the increasing demand for AI tools, a SAS and IDC study reveals that 16.3% of companies lack effective governance for their unstructured data. IDC’s Senior Research Manager, Amy Machado, warns that while interest in AI is robust, actual usage may fall short unless reliability and governance issues are addressed. Unlike competitors like Microsoft Copilot and Google’s Gemini, Superhuman’s integrated approach across various platforms offers a centralized solution for knowledge management. While demand for these AI agents is strong, they cannot rectify existing data infrastructure issues. Effective governance, security, and operationalization of unstructured data remain critical for maximizing their potential in organizations. Centralized, API-first solutions are essential for improving productivity and knowledge sharing.
