Artificial intelligence (AI) adoption is rising in Malaysian organizations, with 74% of employees comfortable collaborating with AI agents, yet only 23% are open to being managed by them. This highlights a significant challenge: integrating AI without losing the human touch. The Workday research reveals optimism around AI’s potential to boost productivity and efficiency, especially in finance and HR, despite ethical and governance concerns being primary barriers. A strong 53% of employees worry about ethical risks like bias, emphasizing the need for transparent communication and human oversight. More than half believe strict governance is essential, with 97% agreeing that IT should manage AI agents. While many see AI as a teammate, trust fails in sensitive areas like hiring and finance, underscoring the necessity for human control. Organizations must prioritize transparency and employee well-being to harness AI’s potential effectively, enriching work experiences while maintaining trust and ethical standards.
