Solid-state batteries are emerging as a revolutionary energy storage solution, particularly for electric vehicles and renewable energy systems. Unlike traditional lithium-ion batteries that use flammable liquid electrolytes, solid-state batteries utilize solid electrolytes, enhancing safety and energy density. Despite these advantages, creating practical solid-state devices poses significant challenges. High ionic conductivity and robust interfaces between solid electrolytes and battery electrodes are essential yet difficult to achieve. A recent review highlights how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the design and evaluation of solid electrolytes. AI agents streamline materials discovery by integrating data analysis, simulations, and experimental planning, significantly reducing development time. These agents can facilitate more systematic research, identify failure mechanisms in battery performance, and support real-time knowledge updates. The future of solid-state batteries relies on the continued integration of AI technologies, which promise to accelerate the development of safer and more reliable energy storage solutions, benefiting electric vehicles and sustainable energy initiatives.
