AI App Adjusts Features Following Viral HSTikkyTokky Videos

OpenAI recently launched Sora, a viral AI video app that allows users to create realistic deepfake videos with just a prompt. The app soared to popularity on TikTok, especially featuring personalities like Jake Paul and HSTikkyTokky, who have become subjects of humorous, yet controversial content depicting them as a fashionable couple. While Jake Paul embraced the trend, HSTikkyTokky expressed outrage, labeling the portrayals as defamatory and threatening legal action. In response to the backlash, OpenAI announced significant changes to Sora’s functionality, shifting from an opt-out to an opt-in model for likeness usage. This adjustment aims to give content creators clearer control over their image in AI-generated content. Despite its fun origins, the rapid rise of Sora illustrates the complexities and potential pitfalls of AI technology. Sora is currently available for free on iPhones, but creating videos requires an invitation code.
