The “Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence for Personalised Risk Assessment” (AI4HF) project, funded by the EU’s Horizon Europe Framework, focuses on developing the first trustworthy AI tool for personalized heart failure care. Engaging over 200 stakeholders from Europe, South America, and Africa, AI4HF co-designs solutions with patients, clinicians, and advocates through regular workshops. Key insights from these sessions emphasize increasing health literacy, personalized lifestyle recommendations, and involvement of caregivers. Heart failure, affecting over 64 million globally, presents challenges due to its complexity and the varied data generated by patients, making AI’s integrative capabilities essential. Local Clinical/Patient Working Groups at five sites assess the AI tool’s cultural appropriateness and emphasize the need for individualized care solutions. Current sessions aim to refine the AI risk prediction tool while addressing potential biases in its development and implementation. AI4HF exemplifies a collaborative, inclusive approach to advancing heart failure management and enhancing patient outcomes.
