AI Takes Center Stage in Fashion Spotlight at NYFW

At New York Fashion Week, designers like Ralph Lauren and Alexander Wang are embracing artificial intelligence (AI) innovations. Ralph Lauren has introduced “Ask Ralph,” an AI in-store assistant developed with Microsoft and OpenAI, enhancing customer engagement with personalized style suggestions. This launch signals Ralph’s commitment to evolving fashion through technology, as highlighted by David Lauren. Alexander Wang plans to incorporate AI for runway backdrop art, emphasizing the importance of innovation.

Vivrelle, a designer handbag rental service, also debuted “Ella,” an AI tool that offers styling advice and product suggestions. In contrast to mass-market brands that rapidly adopt AI, many high-end designers have hesitated. However, the fashion AI market is projected to grow from $3 billion to $60 billion by 2034, making its integration feel inevitable. As fashion continues to evolve, these advancements reflect a significant shift in the industry’s approach to technology, customer interaction, and design.
