“AI Tools: Bridging Urban-Rural Gaps and Simplifying Healthcare” | Lucknow News

At the Uttar Pradesh AI and Health Innovation Conference, experts emphasized the need for artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance healthcare delivery, particularly in rural areas. They highlighted that AI should simplify tasks for healthcare workers rather than burden them, focusing on tools that support ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and doctors. Dr. Pinky Jowel, Secretary of Medical Health and Family Welfare, stressed that empowering grassroots healthcare workers is essential for improving treatment access in remote regions. With around 1.8 lakh community health workers connected to villages, effective AI implementation can transform telemedicine and improve early disease detection. Discussions also covered the importance of inter-departmental coordination for successful AI integration, considering data security and patient consent. The participation of key figures from various health and technology sectors underscored the potential of AI in bridging the urban-rural healthcare gap and delivering quality medical care in underserved areas.
