Alibaba has enhanced its AI app, Qwen App, by integrating advanced agentic and payment features for public testing in China. Users can now order food, book travel, and make payments via a simple voice or text command. The app seamlessly connects with Alibaba’s ecosystem, including Taobao, Alipay, and Fliggy, streamlining user interactions. For instance, Qwen App can handle food orders, apply promotions, and make payments through Taobao Instant Commerce, while Fliggy assists in travel planning and bookings. With direct integration with Alipay, users can complete transactions without leaving the chat interface. Alibaba’s VP Wu Jia emphasized this innovation transforms user experiences from understanding to action, making the app a reliable intelligent assistant. Launched in November, Qwen App quickly amassed 100 million active users in two months. Alibaba’s aggressive AI investment strategy, exceeding $14 billion, signals its aim to become a leader in the global tech landscape.
