Amazon Web Services (AWS) recently addressed a December 2025 service interruption, attributing it to human error rather than a failure of its AI tools. A report from the Financial Times suggested that AWS’s Kiro AI coding tool autonomously caused the outage by deleting and recreating the environment. The outage, described as “extremely limited,” disrupted only the AWS Cost Explorer feature for approximately 13 hours and did not affect broader services like compute, storage, or databases.
