Anthropic has enhanced its Claude AI by integrating popular productivity tools such as Asana, Figma, and Slack directly into the chat interface. This advancement utilizes the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing users to engage with applications like Asana for project management, Figma for visual design, and Canva for presentations without switching tabs. At launch, nine integrations included analytics from Amplitude, file previews from Box, and data analysis with Hex. Salesforce is also expanding its use of Claude by adding new applications. These interactive applications are available on claude.ai/directory for users on various subscription plans. This move is part of a broader trend, as seen with OpenAI’s recent introduction of an Apps SDK that allows third-party integrations into ChatGPT. Both companies aim to transform conversational AI into a central tool for work productivity, leveraging the MCP as their foundation.
