Anthropic, the AI company supported by Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, has surpassed $30 billion in annualized revenue, overtaking OpenAI, according to Jefferies analysts. This remarkable growth included an addition of $21 billion in just three months, corresponding to more than one-third of Jefferies’ entire public software revenue growth for 2025. Anthropic’s expansion has partly originated from a deal with Google and Broadcom for 3.5 gigawatts of next-gen AI compute capacity, set to launch in 2027, benefiting major cloud providers. Despite Anthropic’s revenue lead, OpenAI poses a significant challenge, holding a larger user base of over 900 million weekly active users, which provides a notable data advantage. Analysts urge that as AI demand grows, Anthropic must scale its compute commitments while balancing current and future needs.
