Apple is set to transform Siri into a sophisticated AI chatbot by the end of this year, aiming to match competitors like OpenAI and Google in generative AI. This overhaul, codenamed Campos, will revamp Siri’s interface to function more like conversational chatbots such as ChatGPT, enhancing user interaction through natural back-and-forth dialogue. Integrated into iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, the revamped Siri will feature advanced capabilities, including web searches, content creation, image generation, and file analysis. Additionally, Siri will have seamless integration with Apple’s core apps, facilitating tasks like voice-activated photo edits and email drafting. A preview of this AI-driven Siri is expected at WWDC in June, while a preliminary update featuring enhanced intelligence using Google’s Gemini models will be released with iOS 26.4 this spring.
