At WWDC 25, Apple revealed plans to enhance app discoverability in the App Store through AI-powered tags that highlight specific app features and functionalities. These tags, created through a combination of AI and human review, will appear on the App Store search page and within search results, providing information typically found in app descriptions and metadata. Users can click on these tags to access curated collections of apps with similar functionalities, expanding on the current “might also like” feature.
Developers will have control over the tags associated with their apps via a new page in App Store Connect, allowing them to remove unwanted tags. Additionally, Apple announced the introduction of custom product pages triggered by specific keyword searches, improvements to app “nutrition labels,” and the expansion of offer codes to cover consumables, non-consumables, and non-renewing subscriptions, further enhancing App Store functionality and user engagement.
