At WWDC 2025, Apple announced significant platform updates, featuring a radical design overhaul centered on “Liquid Glass,” a transparent interface enhancing iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. This marks Apple’s most extensive redesign since 2013, introducing universal aesthetics across devices. The updates include enhancements to user interface elements and core apps, enabling dynamic, real-time rendering effects suitable for light and dark environments. Apple also shifted to a new naming convention aligning OS versions with the year, leading to releases like iOS 26 and macOS Tahoe 26. Other highlights include AI-driven features in Phone and Messages, like call screening and live translation, as well as multitasking improvements in iPadOS 26. Additionally, Apple unveiled a new Games app for mobile gamers and enhanced functionality in Maps and CarPlay.
