Apple Inc. is set to debut an AI-powered search tool, leveraging Google’s Gemini technology, by next year, as reported by Bloomberg. This initiative aims to bolster competition against AI leaders like OpenAI and Perplexity AI Inc. Internally termed “World Knowledge Answers,” this search engine will gather information from the web akin to ChatGPT and Google’s AI features. It’s expected to enhance Siri, enabling it to handle various content types—including text, photos, and videos—while providing AI-generated summaries of search results. The revamped Siri, anticipated in Spring 2026 with the iOS 26.4 update (code-named “Luck E”), also includes a visual redesign and a specialized AI health assistant available through a future paid subscription. Notably, Apple’s collaboration with Google, which includes access to Google’s AI models for Siri, underscores their strategic partnership in internet search technology, making Apple’s choice of Google over Anthropic Claude significant.
