Apple is set to launch an advanced AI version of Siri by 2026, overcoming previous challenges. The company has partnered with Google to utilize the Gemini language model, enhancing Siri’s capabilities. Notable insider Mark Gurman reveals that the upcoming iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 will feature a comprehensive “smart Siri” app. Users can engage via text and voice, with a novel interface to track dialogue history similar to ChatGPT and Claude. A key highlight will be the “Extensions” function, permitting the integration of third-party chatbots from apps through a new App Store section dedicated to AI. Developers will access the iOS 27 beta in June, with a public launch in September. The revamped design will include Dynamic Island and new interface buttons like Ask Siri and Write with Siri.
