Apple is set to transform Siri using Google’s Gemini AI model, aiming for a launch in March 2026. This revamp may introduce an AI-driven web search feature, enhancing Siri’s capabilities but potentially not resolving existing brand issues. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg highlights that while Google will create a customized Gemini model for Apple’s private servers, Siri won’t directly integrate Google services. Despite announcing Apple Intelligence—with AI features—at WWDC 2024, the rollout has been sluggish, widening the gap with competitors like Nvidia. CEO Tim Cook reassures stakeholders about the progress in Siri’s AI enhancements, hinting at potential mergers and acquisitions to advance their roadmap. Besides Siri, Apple plans to release new smart home displays and showcase next-gen Apple Intelligence features at the annual Developers Conference in June 2026. However, integration challenges, especially for the Chinese market, persist as Apple collaborates with Alibaba on AI models.
