ARPA-H Launches Initiative to Create and Implement AI Solutions for Cardiovascular Disease Management

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) has launched the ADVOCATE program to leverage artificial intelligence in cardiovascular disease management. This innovative initiative aims to enhance patient care by integrating AI tools that can access patient records, facilitate appointment scheduling, offer dietary and physical therapy guidance, and manage prescriptions. A key feature of ADVOCATE will be the development of a “supervisory agent” to ensure the safe and effective functioning of these AI systems. This program aligns with the AI action plan released by the White House in July 2025. ARPA-H is now inviting proposals across three focus areas: creating a patient-facing AI agent, establishing a supervisory agent for safety, and collaborating with health systems for technology deployment. Interested parties must submit solution summaries by February 27 and full proposals by April 1. For detailed information, please refer to the solicitation notice.
