Navigating the Challenges of Open Source in AI Development
Over the last two years, I’ve built a cutting-edge Enterprise RAG system featuring:
- Multi-Lane Consensus Architecture
- Layout-aware parsing
- Microservices integration
In giving back to the community, I open-sourced key components like RAG_enterprise_core and smart-ingest-kit. However, I faced a troubling situation when a developer exploited my work, linking my GitHub repositories to their own “AI persona” to attract clients. After addressing this, I archived my projects and am considering leaving open source entirely.
