A recent Adobe survey reveals that many Australians find tax filing difficult, with paperwork and complex regulations being key challenges. The 2025 Adobe Acrobat Tax AI Survey, involving over 1,000 consumers and 269 small business owners in Australia and New Zealand, highlights that 40% of consumers view tax filing as time-consuming and arduous. While more than half file early to expedite refunds, only 29% feel confident in preparing their returns accurately, raising concerns about missed deductions and filing errors.
For small business owners, time constraints are significant, with nearly 25% spending over 11 hours on their tax returns, yet less than 18% express confidence in their accuracy. Despite recognizing the potential of AI to enhance tax processes, many have not fully adopted these digital tools. Adobe’s AI solutions, including the Acrobat AI Assistant, aim to streamline tax preparation and improve accuracy, transforming tax season into a more manageable experience.
