Better Medicine, an Estonian startup specializing in AI-driven diagnostic tools for radiology, has successfully raised €1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Soulmates Ventures. Founded in 2020, the company focuses on developing CE-certified software for cancer detection, particularly in radiology. Its flagship product, BMVision Kidney, significantly enhances radiologists’ efficiency by automating the detection and measurement of kidney lesions in CT scans, achieving a remarkable 99.2% detection rate and up to 52% time savings. Operating in six countries, Better Medicine collaborates with hospitals and research institutions worldwide. The startup has secured total funding of nearly €6 million, including private investments and grants, which will facilitate its expansion across Europe, product portfolio growth, and FDA clearance preparations for U.S. clinical pilots. Founder Priit Salumaa emphasizes the importance of alleviating radiologists’ workload to enhance early cancer detection and reduce burnout.
