Malicious sites and apps, such as a fake “Nova Leads AI,” have been used to distribute CyberLock ransomware, demanding hefty ransoms. Additionally, other campaigns have deployed fake software posing as tools like InVideo AI, complicating the threat landscape. It’s imperative that small businesses enhance their cybersecurity measures by patching software vulnerabilities, strengthening remote access tools, and employing endpoint protection. Regularly backing up data offline and thoroughly erasing malware traces post-attack are crucial for maintaining resilience against the rising threat of ransomware linked to AI innovation.
